The new quarry is planned in the heart of the "Pays de Serres", a micro region of rich landscapes with an exceptionally large biodiversity.

A mosaic of natural and semi-natural ecosystems, of extensive cultures, of dry grassland and prairies, of land covered with shrubs and low trees interspersed with fallow land, which results in an important diversity of floral and faunal species.
 
   
   
 
The herbaceous milieus, sometimes interspersed with small shrubs, make up an ideal shelter for numerous animals.

In the vegetation, we find certain characteristics which are typical for the Mediterranean flora.

The preservation of these is classified with "priority", because they are regressing everywhere.

Their pollen and their honey are also important for the natural balance as they serve as nourishment for bees, butterflies and other insects, while their seeds nourish the young of many species of birds.
